Karina Shelton, CP (Morgan Hill, California)
Karina developed her career first as a pediatric prosthetist and then moved on to general prosthetics and orthotics, working in private practice in the San Francisco Bay area. She opened her own practice in Santa Cruz, California. In addition to her prosthetics profession, Karina travels the world as a competitive sailor. She and her team won the prestigious Adams Cup at the US women’s sailing championships in 2006.
When ProsthetiKa needed a specialist in upper extremity prosthetics to help fit a man in Mexico who had lost both arms in an accident, Karina was called to join in as lead person in the effort. The project was successful and she has become an active member of the ProsthetiKa team.
